Milton Avenue and Highfield Road surround the test centre and are used on every route. A mini roundabout at Highfield Road is the primary exit junction — practise your approach and required exit in both directions as routes diverge left and right from this junction.

Town Street Mini Roundabout Chain
Town Street features two mini roundabouts close together used on several routes connecting the DTC to the A64. These mini roundabouts sit either side of a short residential section — approach each one at a controlled speed and treat it as a full junction requiring a complete observation routine.

The historic town centre around Market Place, Market Street, and Yorkersgate appears on most routes. Roads here are narrow in places and pedestrian footfall is higher — reduce speed, observe well ahead, and be prepared for vehicles reversing out of parking spaces.
