Holmsgarth Road & Gremista Road Roundabouts
Routes heading north of town use the Holmsgarth Road and Gremista Road roundabouts on the A970 — mini roundabouts that connect the industrial port area. These are used on most routes and the correct exit depends on which direction you are travelling, so read the instruction carefully.

Knab Road & Church Road Roundabout
Knab Road leads to a roundabout junction at Church Road on the south side of Lerwick, used on several routes. The approach involves a coastal road with limited visibility on bends — reduce speed early and position centrally before the roundabout.

South Road & A970 Bypass
The South Road and A970 form Lerwick's main bypass corridor, used on the majority of routes. Roundabouts at South Lochside, Scalloway Road, and North Lochside require different exits on different tests — know your exits in advance as there is limited time to decide at approach speed.
