What to Expect at Hinckley
- With 4.2 roundabouts per route on average, Hinckley is more roundabout-intensive than most UK centres. Route 13 has the highest concentration with 7, including Rugby Rd.

Rugby Road is used on 12 of 13 routes and the roundabout at Hawley Road near the DTC is the standard start and finish junction. Most routes begin with a T/L right onto Rugby Road — make sure you're in the correct lane from the very first junction.

New Buildings / Castle Street / London Road traffic light sequence
New Buildings, Castle Street and London Road form the main town centre corridor and appear on five routes. The instructions note multiple sets of traffic lights in sequence — "T/L ahead, T/L ahead, T/L right" — so count them carefully and position early for your onward turn.

Watling Street A5 / Dodwells Road roundabout chain
The A5 Watling Street and Dodwells Road roundabouts appear on five routes, usually in sequence. These are faster, A-road roundabouts requiring earlier approach positioning than the residential ones elsewhere on the test — signal well before you arrive and commit to your exit.

Normandy Way / Wykin Road / Stoke Road residential roundabouts
Normandy Way appears on six routes and the adjacent Wykin Road and Stoke Road roundabouts are used in combination on several. Route 7 navigates three roundabouts in quick succession in this area — stay systematic about your exit counting rather than guessing from memory.
