Haugh Lane, Rotary Way and Alemouth Road roundabouts are used on every route and often navigated two or three at a time. The return instructions consistently describe "3 x roundabout ahead" along this chain — count carefully as they arrive quickly when returning to the DTC.

A69 dual carriageway slip roads (east and west)
Five routes use the A69 dual carriageway via slip roads. Whether you're joining eastbound or westbound, build your speed on the slip road and merge confidently. Several routes also use the A68 junction roundabout immediately after the A69 — know which exit to take before you reach it.

Corbridge Road roundabouts (Priesthopple / Dene Street)
The Corbridge Road roundabouts near Priesthopple and Dene Street appear on four routes. Instructions describe "2 x roundabout ahead" in sequence — these are fairly compact and sit at the edge of town where the road is quieter but the junctions still require proper approach and exit counting.

Beaumont Street / Battle Hill town centre approach
Beaumont Street and Battle Hill appear on four routes as the route through the town centre. The T-junction at Battle Hill roundabout and the one-way section in Hexham require correct lane positioning — it's a busier, more complex section than the industrial estate where the DTC sits.

Allendale Road / Causey Hill / St Cuthberts residential area
Allendale Road appears on five routes and links the town centre to the higher residential streets around Causey Hill and St Cuthberts. These steeper roads require good speed control on the descent and careful clutch/brake management on uphill junctions.
