London Road is used on 13 routes and Hatherley Road on 12 — these are the two most-used roads on the test and almost every route begins by turning immediately onto one of them. The crossroads at Hatherley Road / London Road is assessed right from the start, so make sure your observations are sharp from the first junction.

Sedlescombe Road North roundabout chain
The Sedlescombe Road North roundabouts appear on four routes, often in a chain of two or three. Route 14 describes "roundabout ahead, roundabout ahead, roundabout right" in succession. These are larger roundabouts on the northern edge of the test area — approach at a controlled speed and read the exit sign at each one.

White Rock / Schwerte Way seafront approach
Routes 4, 5, 6 and 9 take you down to the seafront via Bohemia Road, Schwerte Way and White Rock. The instructions describe "2nd T/L ahead, T/L left" in sequence along White Rock — multiple sets of traffic lights close together. Get into the correct lane well before each one and don't let the coastal scenery distract you.

Dane Road / Brittany Road / Pevensey Road residential crossroads
Dane Road, Brittany Road and Pevensey Road are used on four or five routes each as a network of residential streets below London Road. The junctions here are all unmarked priority crossroads — the examiner watches carefully for proper observations at each one, even when there's no other traffic visible.

The Gillsmans Hill and Ironlatch Avenue / Blackman Avenue roundabout appears on three routes and is a key junction on the western edge of the test area. Route 10 approaches via Edinburgh Road and navigates four roundabouts in sequence in this area — stay methodical and count each exit individually.
