Knockcushan Street / A77 roundabout (DTC start/finish)
The roundabout on or near Knockcushan Street is the start and finish point of most tests. You'll navigate it at the very beginning and end of your test — when nerves are at their highest. The A77 trunk road feeds faster traffic into this junction, so give way carefully and don't rush your exit.

A77 / Dailly Road roundabout
Routes 1, 2 and 3 take you onto the A77 trunk road and the Dailly Road roundabout. This is a higher-speed roundabout on the main Girvan bypass — approach with more confidence than you would at a residential roundabout and yield to the faster-moving trunk road traffic.

Hamilton Street traffic light junction
Hamilton Street comes up on three routes and the traffic lights at the Montgomerie Street junction are a prominent feature. Get into the correct lane well before the lights and treat the approach the same as any urban traffic light junction.

Coalpotts Road / Bennane Road roundabouts (east)
Routes 2 and 3 take you out to the Coalpotts Road and Bennane Road roundabouts on the eastern side of town. By this point in the test you'll have been driving for a while — stay focused and don't let your concentration dip on these quieter, less familiar roads.

Bay Terrace / George Street seafront junction
Routes 1, 2 and 3 visit the seafront area via Bay Terrace and George Street. Watch out for the crossroads on George Street — it's a crossroads rather than a T-junction, so make sure you're looking both ways before pulling through.
