Most routes leave the DTC via Yeoford Way and then thread through Bad Homburg Way and Dawlish Road (A379), navigating a roundabout at each junction. These three come in quick succession on a fast-ish stretch of road — get your speed under control early and commit to your exit at each one rather than deciding on arrival.

Bridge Road / Topsham Road / Rydon Lane roundabout cluster
Bridge Road, Topsham Road and Rydon Lane form a complex cluster of roundabouts used across eight or more routes. Several routes loop through this area twice — once outbound and once returning. If you find yourself back at a roundabout you've already navigated, treat it as a fresh junction and count your exit the same way as before.

Alphinbrook Road / Church Road double mini roundabout sequence
The double mini roundabouts at Alphinbrook Road and the adjacent Church Road junction appear on most return legs. Routes describe them as "mini roundabout ahead, roundabout right 3rd exit" — two junctions almost on top of each other that require you to switch from one roundabout decision to the next without hesitating.

A30 / A38 dual carriageway section (route 9)
Route 9 takes you onto the A30 and A38 via slip roads south of the city. Joining a high-speed dual carriageway requires confident speed matching on the slip road — don't slow down waiting for a perfect gap. The roundabout at the A30 West junction needs calm, early positioning.
