19 routes with 549 steps, 414 turns, 261 roundabouts & 12 lights to practise!
Right from the start, you'll navigate a mix of mini and full-size roundabouts on Elstree Way and Shenley Road. They come in quick succession, and will test your judgement, signalling, and composure as you begin your test.
Several sections include loops through quieter neighbourhoods like Aycliffe Road, Allerton Road, and Melrose Avenue. These areas often have parked cars and narrow roads, making them ideal for demonstrating control, and appropriate use of priority at junctions.
You’ll be guided onto faster roads like the A1 and A41, which require confident merging, lane discipline, and awareness of speed changes. Practising accelerating smoothly and exiting safely to feel more in control on these dual carriageway segments.
The return journey weaves through busy town routes and calmer one-way systems via Rowley Lane and Warwick Road. You'll need to stay focused through the changing speed zones, anticipate your lane positioning, and be mindful of pedestrian crossings near the test centre.
